We're almost at the end of January, and I didn't want to let the moment pass without looking back on 2025.

It was a wonderfully busy year. I’ve sent so many beautiful colour combinations, put together many kit orders (including kits for the amazing The Hoop In Hand), as well as plenty of large felt collections, all heading off to be transformed. I often imagine all the different things they will become once they leave here.

Every day I'm lucky enough to work with such a gorgeous material, selecting colours, cutting and packing, and sometimes enjoying a peaceful moment myself with a needle and thread joining it all back together again.

All just small sheets of wool felt and some thread, yet what you all make with it is never small.

Last year I wasn't confined to the cutting room either. In the spring I ventured out with my family to the Stitch Festival at the Business Design Centre in London (and spent too much on a crafty haul😊).

June took me back to the Threads Festival at Farnham Maltings, well worth a trip if you get the chance.

And in July, I travelled to The Forge in Bristol for Adriana Torres' Forest Alphabet workshop, learning new stitches, and of course, adding another project to my ever-growing work-in-progress list 😅

Throughout the year I also attempted (and inevitably failed) to keep up with the Sew Yeah Subscription Service, a hugely supportive craft club with monthly makes and a brilliant stitch school. I probably managed a project every other month (including this cute coy carp, pictured below). I just adore Christine's imagination though and want to make everything she dreams up.

One of the loveliest parts of running this little felt shop is the emails and messages I receive from customers sharing what they’ve made. Seeing your projects, your colour choices and your creativity is a real highlight for me.

Before I take a short break for a long-awaited back operation, I wanted to pause and say thank you. Everything here is still hand cut and packed especially for you. I know I'm not the fastest dispatch in the world, but it means your felt is carefully prepared just for your project. So thank you for your patience, your orders, your lovely messages, and for continuing to support a small business.

As everything is hand-cut I’ll be stopping dispatch after Sunday 25th January and will be away for a couple of weeks while I recover - my back will thank me later I'm told! The shop will remain open for browsing, and I’ll be back at the cutting table and sending out orders as soon as I’m able. Once I'm fully recovered, I'm looking forward to being a stallholder at one of the festivals I visited last year.

In the meantime, I've also have added a few new carefully selected kits and some embroidered notebooks to the shop, which I’m really excited to finally share with you.

I hope you have something creative on the go,  a little stitching, planning, or colour-choosing of your own.

Thank you for being part of this felt-filled corner of the world.

And finally... a little note from my daughter to make your day a bit happier:

Hi I'm Betty and I just wanted to say everything you make and show my mum is always amazing. I always ask to see your creations whenever my mum tells me someone sent a photo. Bye Bye.

Sarah (& Betty) x
